Good news for drivers who regularly travel between Sucat and Taguig: the new Cavitex C5 Link Sucat Interchange has opened. The newly opened section is part of the Manila-Cavite Expressway (Cavitex) and connects directly to Sucat Road, offering a faster route for travelers going to and from Taguig.
Known as Segment 2, the new Cavitex C5 Link Sucat Interchange stretches 1.9 kilometers and is made to reduce travel time and take away about 10 minutes of your drive time. The entire Cavitex C5 Link, once completed, will stretch 7.7 kilometers and link the Manila-Cavite Expressway to C5 in Taguig. The newly opened interchanged is expected to relieve traffic by providing a more direct route for moving vehicles and goods across areas.
To provide immediate relief to motorists amid rising fuel prices, the new segment will be toll-free for 30 days, which would hopefully ease the financial burden on commuters and is seen as an action towards creating more accessible and productive community interactions. President Marcos mentioned that this initiative is part of creating a nation where Filipinos can easily access and traverse their communities.
“This will introduce our new roads, expressways to those who are in need of that transport system. I now count on our Toll Regulatory Board to ensure the immediate implementation, for the benefit of the riding and the transport public.”
The interchange is predicted to help about 23,000 vehicles each day, showing just how much of an impact it can make on easing the daily commute.
