Chinese carmaker Jiangling Motors Corporation Limited, simply known as JMC, is putting on quite a show at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Stealing the spotlight is the new JMC Grand Avenue, the brand’s entry into the highly competitive pickup truck market.
Pickup trucks have always been popular among business owners and workers thanks to their practicality and go-anywhere capability. But their popularity has skyrocketed in recent years among outdoor enthusiasts as a lifestyle vehicle. This is one of the biggest reasons for the recent boom in pickup truck popularity, and JMC is certainly not one willing to be left behind.
Diving into the specs, the new Grand Avenue is powered by a 2.3-liter diesel engine with 174 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Buyers have the option of either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic gearbox. Impressively, JMC is offering lifetime warranty on the engine, along with a five-year service warranty. Engine aside, the Grand Avenue rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels, and is offered in both 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrain options.
Techie features aren’t left out of the mix here, as the truck comes standard with premium features like cruise control, traction control, hill assistance, and parking sensors. Passengers are treated to a premium 10-inch multimedia touchscreen infotainment system complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Pricing and availability-wise, we’re looking at a starting price of P1,221,000 for the 4x2 MT variant. Meanwhile, the most premium 4x4 AT variant carries a price tag of P1,569,000.
