Nissan Philippines the manufacturer of popular vehicles such as the Nissan Terra and Nissan Navara, starts the Christmas season off in Metro Manila with the Nissan Leaf and the lighting up of the Ortigas Center’s giant Christmas tree. This was done to demonstrate the powerful vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology found in the electric vehicle and its usefulness outside of just transportation applications.

Present at the Christmas tree lighting ceremony was Lone District of Pasig City rep Roman Romulo, Barangay San Antonio Captain Raymond Lising, and Representatives of the Ortigas Center Association Inc., which was lead by General Manager Mr. Adeli Jandayan.
The V2X technology found in the Nissan LEAF allows the vehicle to have bi-directional charging. This lets the battery pack in the vehicle be used to not only power the vehicle itself but also power your home or office. It can also be used to just simply give back energy to the power grid if you want a little bit of cost savings when it comes to your electricity bill. While only used to light up a Christmas tree, it also demonstrates the versatility of the Nissan LEAF in terms of what it can do aside from being a mode of transportation.
Nissan and Pasig City share a common vision of a smarter, safer, and more sustainable future and the adoption of electric vehicles in the country is an important part of this future. We hope that the Nissan LEAF, lighting this Christmas tree in one of the country’s foremost business centers offer a shining symbol of hope and a bright future for Filipinos
Aside from showcasing the LEAF’s capabilities in Ortigas, the Japanese brand will also be showcasing its popular EV’s capabilities by lighting up a different Christmas tree. This time it will be done in Glorietta on December 11 to 13 and then later on at the Alabang Town Center on December 18 to 20.
