Nissan Philippines Inc. turned over 45 new Nissan NV350 Urvan ambulance units to the Philippine Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and to various government hospitals and health facilities in Metro Manila This was an effort to enhance the delivery of emergency health services to the public.
The PCSO has always been a firm advocate of efficient health services to the Filipino people, especially those who have little resources to spend on their medical and health care. We will never waiver from this commitment as we reaffirm our dedication in providing free but quality assistance to the public
Speedy delivery to the hospital gives a patient a higher chance to be treated during the “golden hour” after an injury. Being treated within this time frame increases the chances of survival. The Nissan emergency vehicles can also help transport patients from small clinics to bigger hospitals that are better equipped to treat specific illnesses and emergency situations.
The Nissan NV350 Urvan units are equipped with type-2 advanced life support. These units were housed at the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame Quezon City. With these new units, the PCSO can improve on its 24/7 service to give assistance to those who need it, especially for indigent families who rely on the government for their relief
The 45 units are also part of the Medical Transport Vehicle Donation program. The program aims to equip government units, government hospitals, municipal health offices, and other health institutions/facilities all over NCR with medical transport. These vehicles will be used to respond to the needs of the patients especially from poverty-stricken areas. The program also emphasizes the importance of a quick and functional ambulance emergency transport system, so that the public can have quick access to health care. These vehicles will be used in cities such as Quezon City, Muntinlupa City, Valenzuela City, Manila and other parts of the country.
