Nissan Philippines seeks to end the year strong by launching its facelifted flagship SUV this month. The 2022 Nissan Patrol is one of the most highly anticipated luxury SUVs to enter the market and is the only other competitor to the Toyota Land Cruiser. It has been two years since the current model made its debut and it now features a heavy exterior redesign.
On the outside, the 2022 Nissan Patrol features a more angular front fascia evident in the new V-motion design grille along with its new set of bumpers and headlights. Together these new additions give the SUV a more futuristic and sleeker appearance while still maintaining a strong road presence.
At the back, Nissan has also updated the rear of the SUV by giving it a new set of tail lights, a new bumper, a new rear garnish similar to what is found on its smaller brother the Nissan Terra. To finish off the overall new appearance of the Patrol, it also comes with a new set of wheels.
While details about how the local Nissan Patrol will exactly look like are sparse, we expect it to look similar to its middle eastern version that comes with a similar layout to the Nissan Armada. However, we expect the local version of the Patrol to come with a touchscreen system located towards the top of the dashboard and have a bigger screen size in general.
There is no information available yet as to what powertrain Nissan Philippines will bring in for the 2022 Patrol, but we expect the 5.6-liter gasoline V8 to make a comeback as it is rated at 394 hp and produces 560 Nm of torque. The mighty V8 is also likely to be mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission that will send power to all four wheels.
Nissan Philippines has yet to give out information as to when the new Patrol will launch, however, reports have indicated that it will be launching on December 10, 2021.
