Nissan Philippines is set to showcase four new models at PIMS 2026

The 2026 Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) is just a few weeks away and all the participating brands are setting up for the big four-day motor show. While some brands would rather keep their surprises under wraps until opening day, Nissan Philippines Inc. (NPI) proudly made a bold announcement with artwork depicting their four car lineup for PIMS 2026.

The artwork features the all-new X-Trail e-Power, the new Kicks e-Power, the Frontier Pro PHEV, and the Primera EV with a backdrop inspired by Japanese manga. The four-car lineup is meant to cater towards different needs and tastes of a variety of Filipino drivers. Here’s what we know of these cars based on other markets.

First off the lot is the new Nissan Kicks e-POWER, having already made its regional debut at this year's Bangkok International Motor Show. This generation moves the Kicks further upmarket, with a sharper design and a more refined take on Nissan's e-Power setup compared to its predecessor. According to what we know from the Bangkok International Motor Show, the e-POWER system will feature the same engine as before, a 1.2-liter gasoline hybrid engine delivering 134 hp and 280 Nm of torque and capable of doing 25km/L.

Next is a nameplate that has been on hiatus for a while, the Nissan X-Trail. After years off the local market, the compact crossover was first teased at PIMS 2024, and we might see it return to showrooms this year. The X-Trail featured in Nissan’s post is the T33-generation X-Trail, plus, since it's the e-POWER variant, it will likely be powered by the hybrid 1.5-liter KR15DDT three-cylinder engine. In other markets, this hybrid setup delivers 201 hp and 305 Nm of torque, though that might change once it enters our shores.

Up next is the Frontier Pro PHEV. The Frontier Pro is a plug-in hybrid pickup that originated from Nissan's joint venture with Dongfeng in China, where it launched last year. With this pickup truck, Nissan is looking to take on rivals from BYD and Changan. Whether this will replace the diesel-powered Navara, we’ll have to wait for PIMS to roll around.

Rounding out the four is the N7, a name that might change here in the Philippines. Internationally it's called the N7, but documents that surfaced through the Department of Energy suggest Nissan Philippines could sell it under the Primera nameplate, reviving a badge that longtime Nissan fans will recognize.
