Good news to all motorists driving along North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) and Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), as both major highways now have smoother roads than before. Just recently, NLEX Corporation finished its pavement repair of more than 140,000 sqm. section of the expressways, therefore, ensuring a safer and more convenient travel experience for everyone.
The pavement maintenance work started in February this year, with asphalt overlay and patching works done in the 109,886-sqm section of the NLEX and 31,600-sqm section of the SCTEX. Notably, the tollway company annually undertakes comprehensive pavement repairs to maintain good road conditions and provide better service to the public.
Each year, we strive to fulfill our obligation to provide our customers with the best service. With the completion of the pavement repair program, we are optimistic that our motorists will have a safer and smoother drive.
Aside from that, both expressways also undergo regular repairs such as pothole patching as well as crack mapping and sealing. This is done in order to maintain its tip-top shape, guarantee a seamless travel experience, and extend the road’s serviceable lifespan.
All the enhancements that we are doing stemmed from our regular inspections and of course, from the feedback of motorists. It has been our practice to check the pulse of our customers so that anything that needs improvement must be implemented.
Moreover, NLEX is also working on the rehabilitation of Meycauayan and Bigaa bridges in Bulacan. The project includes replacing the gliders and slabs of both bridges to improve its structure. Plus, the highway company is also building the first 5-km section of the NLEX Connector between Caloocan and España interchanges. Once accomplished, this project is expected to accommodate around 35,000 motorists daily.
