Mitsubishi Xpander Philippines

Recently, we found ourselves caught up between two nameplates that were announced to hit the local MPV segment – and, well, it did accumulate divided attentions. We are talking about the Toyota Rush and Mitsubishi Xpander, whom fans gathered on the internet to justify favored vehicles. Well, today is a good day; the Xpander has made it to the country and deliveries will be made soon.

Just a review, the Mitsubishi Xpander was launched last March 2018 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, where we saw excited guests and more curious media personnel. This model is Mitsubishi's replacement for the Adventure AUV that was received by Filipinos very well back in the days. With the hype it has, who wouldn't get curious – especially that we all know Filipinos have a soft spot for MPVs and SUVs that are known for two things: roominess and practicality.

Check this Facebook post by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) out. It's the Xpander, assembling its fleet on the docks, and it's official. Ladies and gentlemen, the awaited MPV by Mitsubishi finally arrives in the country, ready to take a head-to-head combat with the Toyota Rush.

The video reveals a massive lineup of the Xpander, in which the caption says "Deliveries will begin soon." When is soon? Well, no further details were there to answer our question but what matters is it's finally here. The Japanese MPV that's promised to cater Filipino families has landed and people, as evidence in the comment section of the posted video, were excited.

If you weren't among those who pre-ordered it, you may soon find a couple of Xpander units in your local authorized Mitsubishi dealerships. To help you decide, here's the Mitsubishi Xpander pricelist

  • Mitsubishi Xpander GLX MT              ₱ 885,000
  • Mitsubishi Xpander GLX Plus AT        ₱ 960,000
  • Mitsubishi Xpander GLS AT                  ₱ 995,000
  • Mitsubishi Xpander GLS Sport AT        ₱ 1,060,000

The Mitsubishi Xpander is available with four-speed automatic and five-speed manual transmissions that transmit power to the front axles (front-wheel-drive). It is powered by a 1.5-liter engine which could put out 105 hp and 141 Nm of torque. This MPV can accommodate seven persons, which is very much useful for out of town family or barkada trips.
