The 86th Geneva Motor Show witnessed the unveiling of Peugeot’s new concept called Traveller i-Lab 3.0 VIP Shuttle. With today’s high-earning professionals in mind, this mobile business lounge offers cutting-edge features that help people connect and do work while on transit.
The French automaker says that the i-Lab is based from their Efficient Modular Platform (EMP2) and “combispace” design. That said, it evokes a smooth blend of form and function. Its sleek body shape, chrome-accented grille, distinct character lines, and electric sliding doors all reflect the vehicle’s purpose as a modern VIP transport.
To us, the i-Lab’s styling goes well in the urban jungle. It has short front and rear overhangs and a body dimension that’s 4,960 mm long, 1,920 mm wide, and 1,900 mm tall. The vehicle also rides on a 3,280 mm long wheelbase which provides plenty of room inside.
Speaking of the inside, this is where the i-Lab reveals its true nature. In command of the rear occupants is a huge 32-inch tablet screen with Bluetooth. It can be oriented either upright or horizontal for project presentations and more.
This is supported by Peugeot’s 3.0 cloud access system which they co-developed with Samsung. What this does is activate the shuttle’s onboard wi-fi hotspot and sync the passengers’ smart devices as the doors slide open. It can also perform navigation, book hotel accommodations, pair with Samsung’s Gear VR headset, and connect with Peugeot’s Connected Services and Mobility Business Unit Director Brigitte Courtehoux for assistance.
Of course, this executive class vehicle won’t be complete without its comfortable amenities. Aside from the leather and Alcantara trims, the i-Lab also comes with LED ambient lighting and dark window tint to set the mood right for doing work. As an added touch, passengers can listen to their favorite background music through 17 Focal loudspeakers.
These are some of the highlight features that define the Peugeot Traveller i-Lab 3.0 VIP Shuttle. However, the brand is still keeping its other details in closed doors, most importantly its production date. But we can all hope that it would come out soon, and that it would someday find its way here in the Philippines.
For the meantime, Peugeot Philippines has their 5008 MPV and Expert Tepee van to chauffer you to your workplace and more. Check these and the rest in their lineup here at the AutoDeal Car Guide.
