As the number of COVID-19 cases has increased in the past few days, Metro Manila and the neighboring provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal are now back to General Community Quarantine (GCQ). The GCQ period starts on March 22, 2021, and will end on April 4, 2021, the culmination of the holy week.
Referred to as the “NCR Plus” by the government, leisure and other non-essential travels into and out of the aforementioned areas have also been banned. However, to keep the supply lines flowing into these provinces and into the Metro Manila area, essential travel and emergency services are still allowed. Frontline and other vital workers who need to pass through areas with Quarantine Control Points (QCPs) will be required to present the necessary documents before they will be allowed through. QCPs also allow the Philippine National Police to monitor those who are entering and exiting the “NCR Plus” bubble to help control the spread of the virus. There are a total of 20 checkpoints found around the boundaries of the NCR and you can check on the list below.
If you pass through any of these areas, make sure that you have the proper documentation at the ready to ensure that you will be allowed through these checkpoints without much hassle. Make sure that you also have on-hand proper identification and proof that you are allowed to travel. If you do not have any emergency business in these areas, it is highly recommended that you stay home instead. Otherwise, the officers stationed at these checkpoints will enforce their orders and will ask you to turn back.
