September 11, 2014 – In an event presented by Auto Nation Group Inc., the country’s general distributor of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, friends from the local motoring media and a select number of VIPs were treated to a night of celebration and opulence, as the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan was launched.
Renowned for its relentless pursuit for automotive perfection, Mercedes-Benz paved the way for a much wider horizon, starting with the new C-Class’ stunningly sporty exterior appearance derived from the German car maker’s years of auto racing experience, and inspired with its iconic supercars up the line. Featuring a longer hood and a sportier, much meaner front fascia, the new C-Class salutes with a bigger grille, housing its huge tri-spoked star badge, accented with a pair of sharper-angled LED headlamps and a set of gaping air-dams on each side of the lower bumper, providing not just style, but function as well.
Moving on to the side, an immediate sense of fluidness ensues. With wind-cutting aerodynamics in mind, its silhouette speaks volumes, and providing that extra sense of aggression is a smooth side line that cuts across from its front fenders via the headlight corners, fading off just past its rear doors. It then gets punctuated by another smooth side line, starting off from below the rear bumpers, continuing past the wheel arc, and fading away along its front lower fenders, ultimately suggesting a kinetic look even on a stand still.
As the event went on, guests were served with not just food and drinks, but also an array of audio and visual excitement. Prompted by good-mood tunes, a showcase of the new C-Class’ interior and other features lit up the night.

Approaching high levels of sport-contemporary interior architecture arts and design, what beckons its occupants is one of the most modern, luxuriously dynamic, and comfortable cabins, the German automaker has ever made. The most notable feature would be the increased cabin space, most noticeably the head and knee room, resulting from its increased overall dimensions, aimed to keep up with the industry’s growing demands to accommodate people who are in the taller end of the spectrum.
Premium-grade leather seats and powerful air-conditioning provide comfort for its five occupants, and with its luxuriousness, comes an array of technical features that would make every journey a top-class experience, indeed.
Attention to detail is where it’s at for the new C-Class, and that gets demonstrated by a slew of tech-savvy features like the Innovative Touchpad, located on the hand rest, just above the controller on the center tunnel. Like a modern smart phone and pen tablet, this feature allows ease of operation for all of the car’s head-unit functions via touch-sensing technology.
Staying cool, calm, collected, and connected on-the-go comes courtesy of the C-Class’s standard infotainment and internet/Bluetooth connectivity features, highlighted by the COMAND Online – a feature that not only provides an optimum mobile internet experience that is at par with the latest mobile tablets, but also serves as an entertainment feature via radio/TV signal reception and wireless CD/MP3 navigation.
Aside from its looks and features, its engine also pulled in quite an enormous amount of wows that night. Photographers and videographers were quick to focus on its 2.0L inline 4-Cylinder BlueDIRECT 3rd Gen. Fuel Injection Petrol Engine, capable of belting out about 135hp @ 5,500rpm with a pulling power amounting to around 300nm @ 1,200 to 4,000rpm. Mated to a 7G-Tronic PLUS 7-Speed AT, the new C-Class can sprint up to 235kph, making it a force to reckon with on straight-aways.
The media event was capped off with the Auto Nation Group Inc., confirming that the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan will be available here in the Philippines, initially with the C200 AMG line, to be followed by more engine variants and trims in the future.
Truly on a high class of its own – The All-New Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
