If you’ve been wishing for the Ram TRX to make a comeback in the Philippines, it might just be possible in the future. With zero tariffs and the V8 engine back, things are looking more possible than ever. Stellantis has officially confirmed that the Ram TRX will make a comeback.
During an earnings call, CEO Antonio Filosa mentioned that the V8 engine will return in models like the Ram 1500 TRX and is expected to help boost sales. While no exact launch date was shared, it’s likely to be part of the 2026 lineup. The new TRX will use a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine, the same one used in the previous version, which last produced 702 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. Many believe this new version could make even more power to beat the 720 hp of the current Ford Raptor R.
There’s no official design yet, but people expect the TRX to keep its bold and rugged look. Since Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis is now also leading the SRT performance team at Stellantis, the return of the supercharged engine seems more likely. The company also shared that the Hemi V8 will return to the Ram 1500 by 2026, and they plan to introduce 25 new vehicles in the next 18 months. So the TRX comeback is just the beginning of a bigger product rollout.
With fuel economy rules now less strict in the US, carmakers like Ram and Dodge have more room to go all-in on their V8 trucks and cars without worrying about government limits. This shift could make it easier for high-performance trucks like the TRX to stay in production longer and possibly reach other markets, including the Philippines.
With the US and Philippines maintaining a trade deal that makes it easier to import US-made vehicles, there's a growing chance that a future version of the Ram TRX might land in local showrooms. The current TRX has never been officially sold in the country, but the new version’s expected production run and continued American demand might change that. If Stellantis sees enough local interest and import costs stay manageable, a launch in the Philippines might not be too far-fetched.
Should the next TRX return with more than 720 hp, or hit that 800 mark like the Hellcat Redeye, it could easily be one of the most powerful trucks to ever reach the Philippines. For now, see what RAM models are up at AutoDeal.com.ph
