The Jaguar Land Rover announces that the 2018 Range Rover Velar will be available in Malaysia in the 2nd quarter of 2018, as well as in India by January next year.
Notably, the Velar appears to be the brand’s most aerodynamically-efficient with its low drag coefficient of 0.32. It also acquires Matrix-laser LED headlights and flush deployable door handles.
Looking inside, this midsize SUV gets a new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system that features 2 10-inch touchscreens for on-board entertainment. To give a cozy ambiance, wool blend and suede cloth fabrics can be alternatives to leather seats. The Velar is also equipped with dual-zone climate control system to keep the passengers at ease.
Depends on trim level, the instrument panel can be either 2 analogue dials and multi-information display in between, or a 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Digital panel. Full-color head-up display, capacitive steering, individual sliding armrests and configurable mood lighting are also available for improved driving experience.
To give customers options, there’s s a wide a range of engines to choose from – turbocharged gasoline (P250 and P380) or diesel engine (D180, D240, D300). All engines are coupled with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and comes with stop/start technology.
As for safety and security, it is packed with features such as 6 airbags, adaptive dynamics, electronic air suspension systems, terrain response, Anti-Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Hill Descent Control (HDC), Electronic Traction Control (ETC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), brake assist, hill start assist, rear ISOFIX child seat anchors, immobilizer, and security alarm.
Recently, Jaguar Land Rover appointed Coventry Motors Corporation (CMC) to be their official local distributor. The question now is when will the 2018 Range Rover Velar be produced in the Philippine market? Well, it looks like we have to keep our fingers crossed.
