Did you miss out on the first batch of Honda Civic Type R? No need to sulk because Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is bringing a fresh bunch of this legendary hatchback locally, and with a new color option to choose from.
Yup, the Japanese brand is shipping 100 units of the Civic Type R to the Philippines. The move to bring in more units in the Philippines is a direct response to the persistent demand for the brand’s legendary hatchback.
The new, upcoming units of the Type R will be available in 3 colors: Championship White; Rallye Red; and the new Polished Metal Metallic. First deliveries of the Civic will start coming in by October 2018, according to HCPI.
Back in 2017, the Honda Civic Type R proved to be a hot commodity when it easily sold out way before it was officially available in showrooms locally. It also went on to win several local and international awards for design and performance. In addition, the Type R proved its worth when it managed to bag the fastest lap time for a front wheel drive (FWD) car at Germany’s famed Nürburgring race track.
The Honda Civic Type R comes with a 2.0L VTEC Turbo engine that produces 310 hp and 400 Nm of torque, making it the most powerful Civic Type R to date. It’s also paired with a six-speed short-throw stick shift. To help slow down this hot hatch, it’s equipped with 350mm Brembo disc brakes upfront and 305 mm solid disc at the back.
If you would like to drive home your own Honda Civic Type R, HCPI is accepting inquiries starting today.
