The Kia Seltos was introduced to the international automotive market back in 2019. Now, just two years since its introduction, the crossover is reportedly getting an update for the Indian market. While its general looks will be retained, its badging will be replaced with the updated logo from the South Korean automaker. This will also mark the crossover as one of the first few models that will be receiving the new logo under Kia’s plan S for rebranding.
The refreshed vehicle is expected to make its debut in the Indian market in April, however, no specific dates have been disclosed yet. While an official list of new features that will be added to the Indian Seltos remains unavailable, reports have stated that a panoramic sunroof-equipped model could be coming soon. Aside from this, new safety features could also be added to the vehicle. Given that India is near the ASEAN region, these new features could also make their way into Southeast Asia after the refreshed crossover’s initial debut.
On the mechanical side of things, the South Korean crossover is still expected to carry the same engine and transmission options that it has currently available. It is important to note that a diesel version of the crossover is available in other markets. This means that a diesel-powered variant entering the Philippine market is still on the table. However, certain conditions will still have to be met locally in order for this to happen.
As the Kia Seltos is also a popular model available in the Philippines, the South Korean automaker could also have a refresh planned for the local market. While no official announcements have been made by Kia Philippines, we suspect that the refresh could happen sometime in 2022 to allow other markets to slowly roll out the updated model. Only time will tell what the refreshed Kia Seltos will look like, as its reported April launch date in India slowly approaches.
