Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation and the Philippine National Police (PNP) just launched a co-developed mobile app that will come in handy in emergency situations.
Called the Samsung 321, this new app contains a database of all disaster hotlines, national institutions, and facilities that users can contact or locate in case of emergencies. It can also guide its users to the nearest fire station, police outpost, hospital, or motor assistance provider. As a kicker, this app can locate the nearest Samsung service center for mobile products and appliances.
We at Samsung constantly aim to innovate and take steps to enhance the lives of our consumers. For mobile, this is that step. Apart from convenience, we want Samsung mobile devices to be an instrument for people to feel safe and secure wherever they may be. To be able to do that, it’s important that we work hand-in-hand with institutions like the PNP, who share the same goals and objectives.
This app makes use of the Global Positioning System (GPS) found in modern mobile phones to determine the user’s location. It also plots the directions or driving direction on Google Maps.
Samsung 321 covers over 84 locations nationwide including the National Capital Region (NCR) and provincial areas such as Batangas, Ilocos Norte, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Occidental Mindoro, Albay, and Palawan.
Samsung 321 is now available on Google Play Store. It will also be pre-installed on select Samsung mobile phones. Once installed, users can launch the app through the device’s app page, dialer, or emergency call button.
