Before November ended, Shell Pilipinas Corporation and NEO, a leader in sustainable real estate, unveiled their latest Shell Recharge EV offering at Seven/NEO in Bonifacio Global City Taguig.
If another EV charging station in the metro isn’t enough good news already, charging at Seven/NEO BGC is currently free. This marks the newest expansion of the Shell Recharge network, which now includes ultra-rapid charging stations at Shell SLEX Mamplasan and the recently inaugurated Shell TPLEX exit in Rosario La Union.
The Shell Recharge station features dual 22 kW AC charging points that can simultaneously charge two electric vehicles (EVs), each with a capacity of up to 22 kWh. Aligned with the goal of sustainable decarbonization, this EV charging site operates entirely on renewable energy sourced from Mother Earth’s warmth – geothermal energy. Also, this is the very first deployment of Shell’s geothermal-powered charging station on a global scale.
Meanwhile, NEO stands as the Philippines' first net-zero portfolio of buildings, accredited by both the Philippine Green Building Council's (PhilGBC) Advancing Net Zero Philippines and the International Finance Corporation's EDGE Zero Carbon.
“Shell is already a global leader in the EV space and we are happy to work with our customers and partners across private and public sectors as we decarbonize Mobility and power progress in the Philippines. NEO is a leader in sustainable real estate and shares Shell’s vision of a lower carbon future”.
During the event, the first electric vehicles to utilize the charging facilities were part of Shell's dedicated fleet of EV service vehicles, which serve Shell staff at Shell Business Operations Manila. If you ever find yourself driving around Taguig with an EV low on juice, you can now pop by Seven/Neo to charge up and get back on the road.
