The new 11th generation Honda Civic will drop in the ASEAN very soon, with Singapore slated to be the first country in the region to get it. After the unveiling of the all-new model, Singapore is, so far, the only southeast Asian country to put out a teaser and even pre-orders.
Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) president, Masahiko Nakamura also confirmed that the Honda Civic will be coming to the Philippine market later this year. However, no launch date has yet been announced. We can expect the sedan to drop in the second half of 2021—likely with the RS variant as the top-of-the-line offering in the lineup.

As for other details in the Singaporean-spec unit, the country received the turbocharged 1.5-liter engine for the 10th generation of the Civic. Meanwhile, base variants of the model received a 1.6-liter naturally aspirated mill paired with only a continuously variable transmission (CVT). IT is also likely that we will see only one transmission option with this new Civic, similar to the lineup we currently have in the Philippines.
As to our guesses on the specs, it is likely that the Civic will come with the top-spec 1.5-liter turbo motor that is so well-loved in the Honda community. Making 171 hp and 220 Nm of torque mated to a CVT with up to 7 simulated gears. There is also a good chance that the base engine options will still include the 1.8-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder that produces 139 hp and 174 Nm of torque with a CVT without the simulated gears.
Based on the teasers, we can expect the Civic to also retain LED headlights, which will likely be native to the mid to top trims, and the overall design will stay true to the official images from Honda in the United States.
If the images are any indication of what’s to come, we can expect the 11th generation Honda Civic to be more Accord-like in its design, and judging from the wheelbase being slightly extended, space and comfort will be similar to a midsize sedan.
That being said, we can’t wait to see the first ASEAN release, and subsequently, the Philippinne launch of the new 11th generation Honda Civic.
