Something’s coming to the market from Subaru Philippines, the Japanese brand is introducing a more powerful Levorg, and it’s going to have a 2.0-liter turbocharged FA20 boxer engine.
At long last, our wishes are now granted. If you can’t quite recall, we cried out to Subaru Philippines to bring the 2.0 Levorg in the 2017 Subaru Levorg 1.6 GT-S review. It feels good that this indirect request has met reality and that we can now enjoy turbocharged 2.0-liter performance. Thank you, MIP.
Before we go further on what’s under the hood, the updated Levorg carries a tad-refreshed fascia. The changes were minor but the impact made the car look a bit sportier and younger. Changes include the now-curvier contours below the headlamps, smaller emblem, and new shape for the fog lamp bezels. It still has this close resemblance to the WRX, which we love by the way, while the interior retains all things in place.
The 2.0 Levorg now has 264 hp and 350 Nm of torque. That’s already a couple of steps away from the outgoing one, which output was at 170 hp and 250 Nm of torque. More importantly, the engine features Active Torque technology for better grip when braking and turning. The 2.0 Levorg still has the standard Subaru EyeSight Driver Assist Tech for added pair of eyes on the road.
Among the things worth mentioning about the 2.0 Levorg are the redesigned 18-inch aluminum wheels, self-levelling automatic LED headlights, and the SI-Drive which features three modes: Intelligent (I), Sport (S), and Sport Sharp (S#).
Motor Image Pilipinas will be launching the 2.0 Levorg at the 2018 Subaru Festival on September 22 to 23, 2018. Be among the first people to see it face-to-face at the 9th Avenue Bonifacio High Street, BGC.
