Suzuki has been and always will be best-known for their small cars. But that doesn’t mean they’re not going to try anything new. And the country’s competitive subcompact sedan market proved to be too tempting for them not to ignore, thus Suzuki Philippines Inc. is now selling the all-new Ciaz here.
This new contender to the likes of Toyota Vios, Nissan Almera, and Hyundai Accent has been billed as a fusion of excellent fuel efficiency, roomy cabin, and great driving performance. It's exterior and interior design exhumes elegance, while keeping a competitive price point.
One of the many things that the all-new Ciaz boasts is its roomy interior space. With a 2,650mm wheelbase and measuring 4,490mm in length and 1,730mm wide, it’s easily one of the biggest in its class. This translates to to more leg and shoulder room that its 5 passengers would definitely enjoy.
Aside from the classy interior design, the top-of-the-line GLX variant also comes with an Android touchscreen head unit with Bluetooth and USB connectivity. This is equipped with wireless connectivity and preloaded with apps such as YouTube, Gmail, Facebook, and Waze. The audio and hands-free setting can all be controlled via buttons mounted on the steering wheel.
While fuel efficiency is relative to one's driving skill, the all-new Ciaz promises best-in-class fuel economy through its 1.4L 4-cylinder engine that comes with either a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. These were borrowed from Suzuki's mini MPV, the Ertiga. The car's body is also designed to have a smoother airflow to minimize drag.
As for safety, it's equipped with the patented Total Effective Control Technology (TECT) that boosts driver and passenger protection through strong impact absorption system. It's also comes with ABS and dual front airbags.
The all-new Ciaz is now on sale and available in local Suzuki showrooms. It’s listed at P738,000 for the GL MT, P773,000 for the GL AT, and P888,000 for the GLX.
