Demonstrating its continued commitment to environmental conservation, Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) participated in this year’s International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Drive 2025, held in Panglao, Bohol, last September 20, 2025. The initiative saw the united efforts of Suzuki’s Marine, Automobile, and Motorcycle divisions, working together to promote environmental stewardship and community sustainability.
The cleanup activity was organized in partnership with DES Strong Motors Corporation, Suzuki’s authorized dealer in Bohol. This collaboration reinforced Suzuki’s advocacy for a cleaner, greener Philippines and its dedication to protecting the country’s marine and coastal ecosystems.
Spearheaded by The Bellevue Resort, the 2025 ICC drew more than 1,200 volunteers from various sectors. Participants included students, local government units, community organizations, and private companies. The strong participation of the youth showed the growing awareness and urgency of collective action in safeguarding the environment.
Serving as the faces of Suzuki Philippines at the event were Mr. Yukio Sato, General Manager for After-Sales Service and Marine Division, and Mr. Norihide Takei, Director and General Manager for the Automobile Division. Both executives joined employees of DES Strong Motors in hands-on cleanup efforts.
The activity was divided into three major teams: the Doljo Beach Team, which conducted a two-kilometer shoreline sweep; the Underwater Team, which focused on marine debris removal; and the Segregation and Audit Team, led by Plastic Free Bohol, responsible for proper waste classification and disposal.
Through the collective efforts of all participants involved, 194 sacks of non-biodegradable waste weighing a whopping 954.38 kg were recovered. The waste material was composed of glass, metal, plastics, and hazardous materials. Disposal and handling of said waste were facilitated with the support of the Panglao LGU.
Beyond serving as a cleanup activity, the event became a celebration of shared responsibility and unity for the environment. Participants bonded over stories, joined interactive activities, and received Suzuki merchandise as tokens of appreciation for their efforts and commitment.
Through its participation, Suzuki Philippines embodied its “By Your Side” promise—extending its support not only in mobility but also in protecting the environment and empowering local communities. The partnership with DES Strong Motors Corporation, along with other like-minded organizations, showcased how collaborative action between corporations and communities can make a tangible difference in the fight against marine pollution.
Suzuki’s advocacy of environmental stewardship can also be seen and felt through its vehicle lineup. Check them out on AutoDeal.com.ph.
