You’ve probably heard this news by now – the 2019 Suzuki Jimny will be launched in the Philippines by next month. March 8, 2019, to be exact, and it’s earlier than the scheduled Q3 launch. Although, the well-loved mini 4x4 SUV has been shrouded with mystery ever since it was revealed at last year’s Philippine International Motor Show.
Three major questions bombarded Suzuki Philippines (SPH) during the biennial motor show: What will be the full specs of the all-new Jimny? What will be its variants? And ultimately, what will be the final suggested retail price? Well, you’re in luck as someone has dropped some answers to us before the launch next month.
According to our source, the 2019 Suzuki Jimny will have three variants: GL MT, GL AT, and the range-topping GLX AT. Even better, the pricing has also been revealed, albeit unofficially, and it’s looking pretty great. See below:
- GL MT - P975,000
- GL AT - P1,035,000
- GLX AT - P1,085,000
For the fans of manual transmission variants, this pricing comes as good news as not only does SPH included a manual variant in the range, it comes with a price tag that’s south of a million pesos. In our experience as the Philippines’ no.1 automotive online marketplace, cars priced below the magic seven numbers sell well. In addition, the top-of-the-line GLX AT didn’t hit the predicted P1.1-million price tag of SPH during the PIMS and the public test drive last year, wherein we got our first impressions on the 2019 Jimny.
But then again, we all should take this with a grain of salt as these prices and variant choices aren't official yet. Nevertheless, we now have a ballpark figure for the pricing. It’s time for you to account for your finances as early as today. And oh, our source added that you can already start making your reservations as of this writing.
Now, one question remains: what would be the final specs of the 2019 Suzuki Jimny? Guess we’ll have to wait until March 8, 2019 for the grand reveal.
