Ford Philippines kicks off 2021 strong with its first virtual launch of the year with the updated Ford Ranger. The popular pickup truck now comes with a new grille that is paired with trapezoidal accents on either side along with a revised bumper. The Wildtrak variant has also been given some attention as it now comes with gloss black wheels, gloss black accents on its front bumper, a new roof rail, a sports bar with Saber insert, and a new set of ‘Wildtrak’ decals found on the side door and on the tailgate. The front fascia is also reminiscent of the Ford Ranger FX4 that was launched prior to this refresh, and its standout design has crept into the main lineup of the Ranger.
Aside from these aesthetic updates, the Ford Ranger lineup still retains its attractive pricing, save for minor price adjustments done to the XLS 4x2 MT variant and to the Wildtrak 4x2 AT model. The XLS gets an increase of P30,000 to its standard retail price, while the Wildtrak gets a P33,000 increase.
As part of the enhancement of the Ranger lineup, Ford Philippines has also introduced a new accessory to the Wildtrak model in the form of a Power Roller Shutter for the pickup’s bed. The Power Roller Shutter option is not currently obtainable, however, Ford has stated that it will available as an added option to the pickup truck towards the second quarter of 2021.
Our new Ford Ranger lineup will allow us to continue building on our leadership in the pickup segment in the country
He continues by stating that “The new Ranger is set to deliver on its promise of functionality and capability while enabling the diverse needs and lifestyles of our customers.” Ford also has announced that it has something else special in store for the Ford Ranger in the coming months. As to what it is exactly is still unknown, however, the addition of a new variant could still be a possibility for the Blue Oval.
