
Toyota’s Land Cruiser nameplate is getting a new generation for the LC300 series of models, however, the smaller Prado is getting a 70th Anniversary edition, complete with leather seats from a cow that makes chocolate milk—kidding, it comes with a Saddle Tongue light brown leather interior among a host of other features.
While the smaller Land Cruiser definitely hits the nail on the head with its slight redesign in recent years, the 70th Anniversary edition gets the top-spec package of features along with special headlight trims, fog light surrounds, mirror caps, roof rails, and a trim piece fo the rear hatch. The wheels are also 18-inches in size with a black finish. Being a special edition, buyers will get a special 70th Anniversary badge and special floor mats with appropriate logos to go with them.
The interior received a whole farm’s worth of special treatment, as the Prado gets a Saddle Tongue light brown leather interior. All the leather upholstered parts in the Prado were covered with this luscious brown material. Everything from the seats to the knee pads. The Center console, and various trim pieces, are covered.
Color options for the 70th Anniversary edition include White Pearl Crystal, Black Attitude Black Mica, Red Mica, and Avante-Garde Bronze. The vehicle is also available as a 5- or 7-seater, and it comes with either a 2.8-liter diesel engine or a 2.7-liter gasoline engine.
As for pricing, the 70th Anniversary Land Cruiser Prado’s price tag starts at 4,290,000 Japanese Yen, or around P2,000,000. This price will get you a Land Cruiser Prado with the 2.7-liter gasoline engine in a 5-seat configuration. Meanwhile, the most expensive model is priced at 5,118,000 Yen, or around P2,250,000. With this price, you get up to 7 seats and a 2.8-liter diesel engine.

There is no news on whether Toyota Motor Philippines will launch the edition in the country, but it could considering the popularity of the Land Cruiser nameplate in the country. That being said, It’s not outside the realm of possibility, but the price will likely be higher than the Land Cruiser Prados available in the Philippine lineup.
