Toyota GAZOO Racing (TGR) and Lexus have announced their joint exhibition at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon 2024, set to take place at Makuhari Messe in Chiba City, Japan, from January 12 to 14, 2024. With the theme of "Getting more passionate about cars with car lovers," the event will include a press conference by Toyota Motor Corporation Chairman Akio Toyoda, also known as Morizo, scheduled for 9:30 AM on January 12.
Toyota GAZOO Racing, the motorsports division of Toyota Motor Corporation, was founded to lead the brand's global racing activities. Involved in competitions such as the World Rally Championship (WRC), the World Endurance Championship (WEC), and the Dakar Rally, Toyota GAZOO Racing focuses on developing and testing Toyota vehicles under extreme conditions to improve their performance and reliability. Over the years, Toyota GAZOO Racing has achieved success in different racing events.
The TGR and Lexus displays will include a wide range of vehicles and concepts, centering around themes such as "Beloved cars," "Customization," and "Motorsports." The exhibits will include new production models, specially customized vehicles from GR and Lexus, as well as GR parts, including the anticipated GR Heritage Parts.

The motorsports section will feature vehicles that have participated in the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) and World Endurance Championship (WEC), where TGR was able to bag wins in 2023. Additionally, the championship-winning vehicles from the 2023 Super GT and Japanese Super Formula Championship will be displayed. The exhibit will also include the CP ROOKIE PRIUS CNF-HEV GR concept, which competed in the Idemitsu Super Endurance Southeast Asia Trophy 2023.
Visitors to the event can look forward to talk sessions with racing drivers and development engineers regarding the development of new models. Drivers like Norihiko Katsuta and Hiroaki Ishiura will be featured in these sessions, sharing their experiences in different races.
Outdoor activities at the event will include a gymkhana duel between the AE86 BEV Concept and Keiichi Tsuchiya's AE86 Super Mame-go on January 13. On January 14, rally drivers Norihiko Katsuta and Takamoto Katsuta will perform demo runs of rally vehicles, including the GR YARIS Rally1 HYBRID.
The event promises attendees an immersive experience of the latest advancements in automotive technology. Additional details about the event will be made available on the website closer to the date.
