Toyota Motor Philippines, the number one car brand in the country, has recently announced that it has hit a new milestone. The Japanese automaker has sold more than 2,000,000 units in the Philippines. This means that over 2 million units have found their way into Filipino households all across the country.
The milestone celebration also comes hot on the heels of the Japanese automaker’s 20th consecutive year of Triple Crown achievement, as Toyota was able to maintain its leadership in passenger cars sales, commercial vehicle sales, and overall sales in 2021.
Surpassing the two million mark would not be possible without the support of our loyal Toyota and Lexus customers, the commitment of our 73-strong Toyota dealer network, and of course the sense of ownership that every TMP team member has to our goal and responsibility of providing mobility for all. Thank you for making the Philippines a Toyota country.
He continues by stating As a way of thanking our loyal customers who are part of the 2M sales milestone, we promise that One Team Toyota PH, which is composed of TMP, our affiliates, and our entire dealer network, will continue working as one to provide the best possible ownership experience.
Today, TMP is one of the key manufacturers and distributors of Toyota in the Asia Pacific region, making Toyota the leading car brand in the Philippines for decades, with a market share reaching 46.3% by end of 2021. This year-end market share is TMP's highest in its history and the highest in the ASEAN region.
With that being said, it's no wonder that many Toyota vehicles are plying the streets of the Philippines today. As the automaker further expands its presence locally, we could soon see more of its global models come to the country. This could hold especially true for the brand’s hybrid or EV lineup given the current fuel crisis.
