After weeks of anticipation, Toyota is officially opening the reservation list of the Toyota GR Yaris for the Philippine market. The hottest homologation hatch from the Toyota stable can be purchased, but you have to get in line. With a price tag of P2,650,000, it seems like a hot deal if you can get your hands on one.
Toyota Motor Philippines announced in a press release that select dealers will be taking reservations of the homologation hatch. As for a launch date, no specific date was announced by Toyota as to when the company will hold an official launch, however, by our estimations, we expect that the launch may happen in the month of May, with unit releases to occur in late May to mid-June of 2021.

The hot hatch will come with a 1.6-liter turbocharged inline-3-cylinder engine with 257 hp that courses its wrath through a GR-FOUR 4WD system. The model will have enough power to hold its own against the Toyota GR Supra in a drag race, and enough engineering to potentially run circles around it. The GR Yaris is a big deal in the market, and it will definitely be a rarity in the coming years.
That being said, the Toyota GR Yaris has limited production worldwide. While the Philippines will be granted availability for Toyota’s premier performance hatchback, numbers will be limited and only a few units will ever be produced for the purpose of homologation. The GR Yaris is also equipped with rally racing technology, which essentially makes this a rally racecar for the road.
