The Toyota Fortuner has been a familiar nameplate that’s been greatly embraced by several Filipinos. Earlier this year, Toyota showcased a refreshed version of the renowned midsize SUV, with it featuring improved aesthetics and a more powerful engine option. Apart from the standard Fortuner variants and the range-topping Legender, Toyota might even offer a TRD Sportivo trim for the refreshed model. With that in mind, images of a brochure have leaked indicating that the Japanese brand will be launching a sportier version of its popular SUV soon.

Likewise, the pre-updated model also had its own version of this TRD Sportivo trim and was sold locally. Perhaps, the facelifted version of the TRD Sportivo will also serve as a looks package, therefore, buyers will be paying extra for the special body kit, along with the different set of alloys, allowing this variant to stand out distinctively among the rest of its stablemates.
So in terms of contrasting elements, this refreshed version of the Fortuner TRD Sportivo will have a newly-designed front and rear bumpers, as well as LED fog lamps and taillamps. While shoes are complemented by a set of dual-tone alloy wheels. Surprisingly, apart from the aesthetic package, its cabin shall benefit from a 9-inch head unit that’s Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capable, along with a 360-degree camera for maneuvering. Before, this trim was locally offered in the base 2.4-liter diesel engine only, let’s hope that this refreshed version will have the flexibility of carrying the larger 2.8-liter motor, which should be favorable to most buyers out there.
Upon recalling, we’ve gone across a report that the refreshed Fortuner has been spotted somewhere in Batangas, and it’s being transported via a trailer truck. By that, it’s safe to assume that the updated model will soon be officially launched. While we’re still clueless with the range of variants to be offered locally, we do hope that Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) would consider adding this to the Fortuner range, perhaps during its proper launch or as a follow up trim in the near future.
