VinFast Philippines enters the local MPV segment with the all-new MPV 7

VinFast is not tiptoeing into the Philippines' most competitive vehicle segment. Just a few weeks after providing us teasers of the MPV 7, the Vietnamese automaker has officially launched its electric MPV for the Philippine market

Before anything else, worth getting one thing straight: this is not the Limo Green. The MPV 7 is a people-mover much like the Limo Green, but it's been tweaked and furnished for family duties instead of day-to-day taxi service.

VinFast used the Limo Green as a base and layered on more equipment, better trim, and a consumer-facing identity to arrive at the MPV 7. The result is a car built around what the brand calls the "golden ratio" of MPVs, wheels pushed as far toward the corners as packaging allows, freeing up interior volume without having to stretch the footprint.

Numbers-wise, the powertrain is a 150 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor putting out 201 hp and 280 Nm of torque, fed by a 60.13 kWh LFP battery. NEDC range is rated at 450 km on a full charge. Fast charging via CCS2 takes the battery from 10 to 70 percent in 30 minutes flat, while a 7.4 kW home AC charger covers the overnight routine. Zero to 100 kph happens in under 10 seconds, and top speed is capped at 140 kph.

Size wise, the Vietnamese MPV 7 sits right where you would expect it. At 4,740 mm long and 1,872 mm wide, it is practically identical to the Limo Green, with only a marginal difference in height at 1,734 mm. That puts it in familiar territory alongside the Mitsubishi Xpander, Toyota Innova, and the fully electric BYD eMax 7.

The bodywork follows the Limo Green's basic silhouette, but there are a few touches that set it apart. Up front, the LED daytime running lights now extend into the VinFast logo, a design cue shared with other models in the lineup. The steel wheels and hubcaps are gone too, replaced by 19-inch alloys. Four exterior colors are on offer: Infinity Blanc, Zenith Gray, Moonlit Ocean, and Jet Black, all paired with a two-tone black and brown interior.

Inside, the minimalist dashboard from the Limo Green is carried over. A 10.1-inch central touchscreen does double duties serving as the infotainment hub and the instrument cluster. What the MPV 7 adds over its commercial cousin are a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio and cruise control buttons, a column-mounted gear selector, faux leather upholstery, and automatic climate control, among other upgrades.

Pricing comes in at P1,239,000 under VinFast's battery subscription scheme, or P1,518,000 if you want to own the battery outright. Customer deliveries are scheduled to kick off in June 2026, and orders are open now. The package also includes a seven-year vehicle warranty, a 10-year battery warranty, and access to VinFast's Residual Value Guarantee program.

Fully electric MPVs have yet to find real footing in the local market. Whether the VinFast MPV 7 changes that picture remains to be seen, but at that price point, it gives buyers something worth considering.
