Vingroup is rolling out a new incentive program to ease the transition to electrified mobility amid volatile global fuel prices. Called “Trade Gas for Electric,” the initiative will be introduced across Vietnam, India, Indonesia, and the Philippines, offering added perks for customers who move away from gasoline-powered vehicles in favor of VinFast’s electric lineup.

Under the program, motorists trading in their old internal combustion vehicles for new VinFast EVs can get an extra three percent discount on cars and five percent off electric scooters. These are on top of any existing offers already available in each market, giving buyers more reasons to consider making the switch.

The broader Vingroup ecosystem is also joining in. GSM Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company is preparing parallel efforts, including fare cuts for its electric ride-hailing services. In Vietnam, the Xanh SM platform will offer a 10 percent discount, while Indonesia’s Green SM service will follow suit, with the promo running from March 11 to March 31, depending on the market.

The move comes at a time when fluctuating fuel costs continue to put pressure on daily transportation expenses. By bundling multiple incentives, Vingroup is positioning electric mobility as a more practical alternative, not just from an environmental standpoint but also in terms of day-to-day operating costs. The company says the program could be extended depending on how fuel prices and global conditions evolve.

“The special ‘Trade Gas for Electric’ program launching across four key markets this March reflects VinFast’s timely response to geopolitical volatility affecting socio-economic conditions in many countries. As one of the pioneering manufacturers leading the global electric vehicle revolution, VinFast, together with companies within Vingroup’s green ecosystem, aims to help reduce the impact of fuel prices on people’s daily lives while also lowering environmental pollution through smarter, more sustainable, and more cost-efficient mobility solutions.”

The “Trade Gas for Electric” program will run alongside other existing offers in each market. With these stacked incentives, Vingroup hopes to accelerate EV adoption, reduce reliance on gasoline, and make everyday mobility more stable and sustainable for consumers.
