In an attempt to maintain its stature as the number 1 European car brand in the country, Volkswagen PH is set to launch 2 diesel-powered vehicles later this month – the 2017 Jetta and the 2017 Golf GTS. The company aims to double its sales output in 2016 with the help of the Jetta and the Golf GTS.
2017 Volkswagen Jetta
Volkswagen PH says the Jetta will be available in 4 variants: Business Edition+, Business Edition, Highline, and Comfortline.
The Business Edition+ and Business Edition variants are fitted with Bi-Xenon headlights, adaptive front lighting system, and LED daytime running lights. Coming as standard for all variants is the sunroof – talk about extra style points.
Inside, leather seats, keyless-go with push start and a 5.8-inch infotainment touchscreen come as standard on all Jetta variants. On the other hand, the Business Edition+, Business Edition, and Highline is equipped with 8-speaker sound system, dual zone ‘Climatronic’ air conditioning, rain sensor, and 6-way power driver seat with lumbar adjust.

Under the hood, the Jetta is powered by a 2.0-liter Turbo-charged Direct Injection (TDI) diesel engine that delivers 150 hp and 340 Nm of torque. The engine is then mated to a 6-speed DSG dual clutch transmission.
The Jetta is available in the following exterior colors: Black, Platinum Gray, Toffee Brown, Cardinal Red Metallic, Reflex Silver, Blue Silk, Pure White, and Moon Rock Silver. The Jetta comes with the said prices: P1,100,000 for the Comfortline, P1,200,000 for the Highline, P1,250,000 for the Business Edition and P1,300,000 for the Business Edition+.
2017 Volkswagen Golf GTS
The GTS (Grand Touring Sport) variant is basically the wagon version of the standard Golf. Volkswagen PH claims it offers 350 liters more cargo space (rear seats folded) as compared to the hatchback model. It comes in 2 variants: Business Edition+ and Business Edition.

The Golf GTS is powered by a 2.0L TDI diesel engine that puts out 150 hp and 340 Nm of torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed DSG dual clutch transmission. The Golf GTS Business Edition is priced at P1,350,000 while the Business Edition+ is available at P1,400,000.
