Following a great run last year with the introduction of the Polo sedan, Volkswagen Philippines maintains their momentum in 2015 with the launch of the much-awaited Polo hatchback.
From the get-go, the 2015 Polo hatchback embodies a sporty and aggressive aura. Exterior styling gets range-adjusting halogen headlights, chrome-accented grille, and a set of 15-inch alloy wheels.
A leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls beckons the interior. This 5-door subcompact hatchback also comes with “Livon” fabric seats, RCD 320 entertainment system with CD, MP3, aux-in, SD card, and USB slots. Bluetooth connectivity is also a standard feature.
Compared to the Polo sedan’s diesel burner, the Polo hatchback gets a 1.6L 4-cylinder Euro4 multi-point fuel-injected gasoline engine, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Power and torque stats top at 105 hp @ 5,250 rpm and 153 Nm @ 3,750 rpm.
For safety and security, this latest Polo hatchback is ready with a crash-safe body design, ABS, dual front SRS airbags, park distance control, anti-theft system with immobilizer, and interior monitoring system.
“The Polo Hatchback is indeed a perfect combination of quality and driving pleasure and is targeted to be one of our volume sellers. Now on its fifth generation, the Polo Hatchback offers excellent levels of comfort, functionality, reliability, and, long-term quality,” said John Philip Orbeta, President and CEO of VW Philippines.
The Polo Hatchback is now on sale priced at P950,000 and available in five colors: Copper Orange, Candy White, Night Blue Metallic, Flash Red, and Carbon Steel Grey.
