Volkswagen Philippines has recently announced that the all-new Passat will make its way to our shores as their bid on the midsized luxury sedan market.
Already on its 8th generation since 1973, the 2015 Passat will be powered by a 2.0L TSI engine capable of producing up to 220 hp. Its power plant will be mated to with a 6-speed dual-clutch Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) transmission. It will also come with features such as LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, Adaptive Chassis Control, 14-way electric seats, a navigation system, rearview camera, Active Info Display gauges, and a panoramic sunroof.
As of this writing, there’s still no confirmed date as to when it will be launched here. All we know is that it will be tagged with a price range between P2.3-million to 2.8-million.
The 2015 Passat will surely give its competitors a run for their money and a tough choice for those who are in search of a luxury sedan. Its affordable price tag topped of with German engineering is certainly something to look out for.
