Motor Image Pilipinas, Inc, the exclusive distributor of Subaru vehicles in the Philippines, opens the registration for the 2019 Subaru Palm Challenge. The Philippine leg of the competition will be held at the Subaru Festival on September 21 to 22 at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.
The Subaru Palm Challenge is no easy feat as the competition will challenge the participant both on the physical and mental level. Competitors will also have to fight unpredictable weather as well. The goal of the challenge is to outlast your opponents by being the last person standing with his or her hand on the car.
After the Philippine leg, the top 10 participants will get an all-expense-paid trip to Singapore where they will compete in the Regional leg of the competition. These participants will also receive cash prizes for outlasting the rest.
In the Regional Palm Challenge, the Filipino representatives will join other finalists from the nine other Asian countries to battle it out for the grand prize of a brand new Subaru Forester 2.0i-L. The prizes change per region, this means that other countries will have a different Subaru vehicle up for grabs during the competition. The last person standing from each country will also receive a cash prize as the last person standing for that country.
Interested participants must be at least 18 years old as of January 1, 2019. They must also possess a Filipino passport and must be in good health condition.
Last year’s winner of the Subaru Palm Challenge was a Singaporean mom who had to stand still for 75 hours, 17 minutes, and 58 seconds. She, however, did not beat the all-time record of the event of 82 hours, 16 minutes, and 58 seconds. The contestant endured the heat and standing up for the duration of the challenge. She ended up winning a Subaru XV 2.0i-S eyesight.
