The new 2026 Nissan Rogue Plug‑in Hybrid has officially made its debut in the United States. This SUV is Nissan’s first plug‑in hybrid model in the market, combining an electric motor for short trips and a gasoline engine for longer drives. It will be displayed at the Los Angeles Auto Show from November 21 to 30 and is expected to go on sale in early 2026.
The Rogue Plug‑in Hybrid can travel about 61 kilometers on electric power alone and up to 676 kilometers in total with the help of its gasoline engine. It uses two electric motors, a 20‑kWh battery pack, and a 2.4‑liter gasoline engine that together produce 248 hp. It also comes with all‑wheel drive as standard and offers several driving modes, including EV, Save, and Charge, depending on how the driver wants to use the power. Charging the battery with a Level 2 home charger takes around 7.5 hours. The SUV also features seven drive modes such as Normal, Power, Eco, Gravel, Snow, and Mud, giving flexibility for different road conditions. Fuel efficiency is rated at 64 MPGe or 26 mpg when running purely on gas.
Inside, the Rogue Plug‑in Hybrid has three rows of seats that can fit seven passengers. The second row slides and folds for easier access to the third row, and the Platinum variant adds features like rear sunshades and tri‑zone climate control for added comfort. Cargo space can reach up to 64.7 cubic feet with the rear seats folded, enough to carry long or bulky items. A power liftgate and wide‑opening doors make loading easier.
The cabin includes a 9‑inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, a 12.3‑inch digital display, and in the Platinum trim, a 10‑inch head‑up display and a Bose 9‑speaker audio system. There are also USB‑A and USB‑C ports for front and rear passengers, wireless charging, and 120‑volt power outlets that can run small appliances.
For safety, the Rogue Plug‑in Hybrid comes with Nissan Safety Shield 360, which includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross‑Traffic Alert, and Rear Automatic Braking. It also features ProPILOT Assist, which helps with steering, braking, and acceleration, plus a 360‑degree camera for easier parking. On the outside, the SUV has 20‑inch dark wheels, black trims, and full LED lighting. The interior uses soft‑touch materials for a clean and quiet feel, and the Platinum version adds leather seats, interior lighting, and metal trim around the shifter.
The Rogue Plug‑in Hybrid will be available in SL and Platinum variants in the United States. Each unit also includes a portable Level 1 charger that can plug into a regular household outlet.
While Nissan has not announced any plans to bring the Rogue Plug‑in Hybrid to other markets yet, it could be a really good option for the Philippine market, where hybrid and electric vehicles are slowly becoming more popular. Local Nissan fans will have to wait and see if the brand decides to offer this model in the near future. In the meantime, check out what Nissan currently has at AutoDeal.com.ph.
