What else is MG planning for the Philippines? MG Philippines may soon introduce two new vehicles to its local lineup: the MG RX9 luxury SUV and the MG 7 performance sedan. As reported by TopGear Philippines, both cars recently received homologation papers from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in October 2024. While there’s no official announcement yet on their arrival or pricing, this step suggests that these vehicles could be available in the Philippines soon.
Filipinos can expect the MG RX9 to offer more choices in the luxury SUV market. It has a 2.0-liter Net Blue engine with 201 hp and 350 Nm of torque. Inside, the RX9 features cream-colored leather seats and wood accents, giving passengers a comfortable ride. The SUV is 4,983mm long, 1,967mm wide, and 1,786mm tall, making it roomy enough for passengers and cargo. It seats six people, has a 4WD system, and rides on 21-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, making it a good option for both driving around for work and out-of-town trips.
On the other hand, the MG 7 gives drivers a sedan made for speed and performance. It has a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that produces 261 hp and 405 Nm of torque. The car also comes with a four-piece exhaust system to support its performance. In 2023, the MG 7 set a Guinness World Record for altitude driving, climbing 5,978.17 meters in China’s Laqiongla Mountains. The interior has a motorsport-inspired design, including racing seats for the driver and front passenger, adding to its sporty appeal.
Should these models arrive in the Philippines, the RX9 could provide Filipinos with another option for a luxury SUV, and the MG 7 might catch the interest of those who want a sedan. There’s no confirmed launch date or pricing yet, but you don’t have to wait to explore MG’s lineup. Visit AutoDeal.com.ph to see the current models and get a quote for the MG that suits you.
