XPENG L09

XPENG is finally putting a date on the calendar. The Chinese EV maker confirmed this week that its long-teased Philippine launch will happen this September, with a public event that officially opens the brand's doors in the local market.

The announcement builds on what XPENG had already told us earlier this year: a third-quarter 2026 entry into the country. The launch event will be held in public, giving Filipino car buyers the opportunity to see what XPENG is bringing and hear the company's pitch for where intelligent mobility is headed.

Running the show locally will be XPENG Philippines, set up as the brand's direct subsidiary in the country. According to XPENG, it will be handling everything from sales and marketing to distribution and retail in the country.

Two vehicles will headline the September debut, and they're aimed at pretty different corners of the market. First up is the XPENG X9, a seven-seater that the brand is positioning as its flagship people mover. Expect executive-level comfort mixed with a heavy dose of AI tech.

XPENG L03

Sharing the spotlight is the XPENG L03, a coupe-styled crossover SUV built around a more youthful, design-forward approach. It still carries the brand's software-defined DNA and AI smarts, just wrapped in a shape meant to feel sleeker and more athletic on the road.

As for what these two will actually cost, or which trims Filipino buyers can choose from, XPENG isn't saying just yet. Pricing, variants, and full specs for the local market are being saved for the launch event itself.

For those unfamiliar with the brand, XPENG has built its identity around being an AI and tech company first, EV maker second, at least in terms of how they present it. The company handles vehicle design, development, and manufacturing in-house, and it's particularly proud of its self-developed driver-assistance systems and in-car operating software, tech it builds from the ground up rather than outsourcing.

Out of its Guangzhou headquarters, XPENG has already spread its footprint across more than 60 countries and regions, hopscotching through Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Oceania, and Latin America. More than 380 overseas stores back up that expansion, with major hubs already running in Germany, the UK, France, Australia, Thailand, and Mexico. The Philippines is shaping up to be the next stop on that map.

Exact details on the launch event itself, the venue, what activities to expect, and how to register are still under wraps for now. XPENG Philippines says those specifics will drop on the brand's official social media pages as September gets closer.
