If you haven’t heard of Lynk & Co, you might be forgiven for thinking it’s a premium fashion brand based on the name alone. In reality, Lynk & Co is a relatively new automotive company, established in 2016. The brand has positioned itself as a “new premium” manufacturer aimed at a new generation of drivers, introducing innovative sales strategies and, most importantly, a fresh perspective on what mobility should be and look like.
However, being a “new premium” brand doesn’t mean Lynk & Co ignores audiences looking for affordability. Enter the Lynk & Co 06, the least expensive crossover in the brand’s lineup. We’re here to find out whether the 06 lives up to expectations despite its lower price point. Does it deliver a cut-rate experience in line with its cost, or does it offer strong value for money? Here are our thoughts.

Price
Before we begin with the actual car itself, we have to talk about the Lynk & Co 06 lineup. At the time of the review of the Hyper Halo variant, only two trim levels of the 06 were available. The first was the Hyper Core+ AT, which was priced at P1,399,000, followed by the variant we tested, the Hyper Halo, which is priced at P1,598,000. A few months later, in April 2025, Lynk & Co introduced the Origin SE variant, which is priced at P1,198,000.
While the introduction of the Origin SE variant doesn’t directly impact the experience of the Hyper Halo, it does offer potential buyers a more affordable third option to consider when looking at the 06 crossover as their next purchase. As for the Hyper Halo, its price—hovering around P1.6 million—places it on the higher end of the subcompact crossover spectrum.
Additionally, several competitors offer lower-priced models or hybrid variants for roughly the same amount. Like any vehicle, the Hyper Halo has its pros and cons, and perhaps along the way, we’ll discover a standout feature that justifies the premium.
Exterior
Now, onto the car itself. What you’ll first notice about the 06 is its sleek silhouette and distinctive front fascia. The front bumper has a flat, clean look, dominated by a wide horizontal grille that spans the full width of the vehicle. Adding to the 06’s unconventional styling are the LED headlights, uniquely positioned on top of the hood rather than integrated into the bumper.
At the rear, the 06 features a wide tailgate adorned with wraparound LED taillights and the brand name boldly displayed across the center. A pair of functional exhaust tips and a black plastic bumper add a sporty touch to the overall design.
If you didn’t know (though the shape might give it away), the 06 is based on the Geely Coolray crossover, hence the similarities in shape and size. The 06, however, has made a great effort in differentiating itself from the Coolray and the crossover market in general, which is a hard thing to do considering it’s a saturated market.
Overall, though, we love the 06’s looks; it’s an unconventional take on the subcompact crossover without looking too wild. It’s a different look, but it doesn’t give you an ultimatum on whether you like it or not each time you look at it. Plus, the functional twin exhausts not only give it some more charisma, but they also give the driver some bragging rights.
Interior
Moving inside, the Lynk & Co 06 has a modern, sporty vibe with some cool futuristic touches. Features you’ll notice right away include the flat-bottomed steering wheel, the clean-looking center console, and the floating touchscreen that gives it a high-tech feel. Everything in the cockpit is laid out smartly, buttons are lined up vertically next to the shifter, and the rest of the controls are easy to reach around the center stack.
In the back, the sporty feel continues with nicely bolstered seats wrapped in soft leather. Rear passengers aren’t left out either, they get their own charging ports and an extra air vent right in the middle for added comfort. Touching any part of the interior inside the 06 gives the feeling that the car is built very well, everything feels solid, and like it’s built of quality materials.
The rear seats are comfortable, and while they could use better thigh support, they still get a thumbs-up from us. Rear legroom and headroom are also impressive, and the addition of a panoramic sunroof floods the cabin with natural light, making the interior feel more spacious than it actually is. We also appreciate the 06’s fun little quirks, like the button-operated rear headrests, which are oddly satisfying to play with and could easily keep us entertained for hours.
Cargo Space
With the rear seats up, cargo space in the 06 isn’t impressive at 280 liters of space. Due to its width, fitting a single balikbayan box in this configuration is impossible. Folding the rear seats down gives space for two balikbayan boxes with space to spare. The addition of a power tailgate does provide some consolation, allowing you to free up your hands as you load items into the rear.
Technology
Moving to the car’s tech features, the 06’s standard features include automatic headlamps, Follow Me Home headlamp delay, and LED rear combination lights. The Hyper Halo variant adds a power tailgate, which we mentioned earlier, for extra convenience.
Inside, the 06 offers a range of comfort-focused features, such as a four-way adjustable steering wheel, power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, and keyless entry with push-button start. The infotainment system is a large 12.3-inch touchscreen display. Navigating the car’s infotainment display takes a bit of a learning curve, but it shouldn’t take drivers more than a week to get used to it. Despite its crisp graphics, though, the unit we tested did not have Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, and for the price you pay for this model, it’s quite a disappointment. Lynk & Co says that their vehicles, including the 06, will get the two phone pairing apps in 2025. How long will that be? We don’t really know.
When it comes to safety, standard features consist of dual front, side, and curtain airbags; an ESP 9.3 Vehicle Stability Control System; Hill Start Assist (HSA); Anti Rollover Protection (ARP); rear parking sensors; a tire pressure monitoring system; blind spot detection; lane change assist; rear cross-traffic alert; rear collision warning; and a 360-degree camera.
The Hyper Halo variant steps it up even further with advanced driver-assistance features like forward collision warning, low-speed follow, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist, lane-keeping assist, and lane departure warning. Adaptive cruise and low-speed follow in particular are very helpful features to have when you’re stuck in Metro Manila traffic, a definite plus for the 06.
Powertrain and Performance
Under the hood, the Lynk & Co 06 delivers solid performance with its 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, producing an impressive 178 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque. It’s mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which transfers power to the front wheels.
On paper, everything looks great, a solid amount of horsepower and torque, on the road, though, we found that the 06’s torque can overpower the traction its stock tires can provide. Put your foot down, and the howl of the tires screaming for help will immediately follow. It’s fun for a while, but it can get tedious when you just want to set off.
Because of its relatively high power output, fuel economy takes a bit of a hit. On the highway, the 06 can achieve up to 17 km/l, but in city stop-and-go traffic, that figure drops to around 7 km/l. We expected a bit more from a 1.5-liter engine, but it’s the trade-off between power and efficiency.
Though fuel consumption isn’t impressive, the seven-speed DCT does make up for it with its smoothness. The 06’s gearbox is refined, no gear hunting during slow speeds and no jerkiness either. If you want to shake up your drive, selectable drive modes are available at your disposal.
Comfort
From the driver’s seat, the Lynk & Co 06 makes a solid first impression. It feels well-built, with no rattles or squeaks to spoil the experience. The suspension does lean toward the firmer side, but that’s unlikely to bother its target audience, young drivers who, let’s be honest, probably aren’t dealing with back pain just yet.
That said, the 06 does a great job of making the ride feel polished. The interior reinforces its solid build quality as you drive, with minimal noise, vibration, and harshness. Everything you touch feels sturdy and well-finished, and nothing feels like it’s about to snap off in your hands.
Verdict
Overall, considering the Lynk & Co 06’s features and pricing, it clearly has aspirations higher than its price range. It has several strong points, solid build quality, well-executed tech, and eye-catching design, but it’s not without its drawbacks. The absence of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with its firm ride, may be deal-breakers for some.
That said, if you’re willing to overlook those shortcomings, the 06 proves to be an enjoyable car both to drive and ride in, even if it does drop the ball from time to time.
