The word excessive isn’t always a bad thing. Sometimes, being excessive could be defined as going the extra mile, making sure someone gets everything they need plus more, or getting an extra of something just for good measure. The same principle applies to cars. Sometimes, you get a little bit extra just for the thrill of it or for the occasional “just in case” situations. The Ram 1500 Rebel is more than a “little bit extra.” In fact, it’s kilometers, or should we say ‘miles,’ from just a ‘little’ bit. It's a full-sized shout of defiance to potholes, tight streets, and to every reason why it shouldn’t belong here, and sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.

All-American performance
The 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel comes with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six gasoline engine that pushes 420 hp and 625 Nm of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. More than enough power to get its massive three-ton chassis rolling. Some of you might expect the American behemoth to come with a 5.8-liter V8 HEMI, but let us be the first to tell you that the 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six is a blessing in disguise, especially with today’s rising gasoline prices, as this gets 10 km/L on the highway and 4 km/L on the city, compared to the HEMI’s 7.8 km/L combined. While that isn’t astronomical in this economy, especially with more fuel-efficient alternatives, we figured that you’re not exactly getting the Ram 1500 for its fuel efficiency.
To address the elephant, or the ram, in the room, the Ram 1500 Rebel towers above everything else at 2,011 mm in height, 5,916 mm in length, with a width that would make even the largest gym bro feel thin at 2,085 mm. We even got the chance to compare it to the largest mid-sized pick-up available in the Philippines, the Ford Ranger Raptor, out on a drive, and needless to say, the Raptor looked like a sedan compared to the Rebel. But it is surprisingly lower than the Raptor with 220 mm of ground clearance.
Off-roading won’t be a problem thanks to its 18-inch wheels wrapped in Goodyear’s 275/70 All-Terrain tires, making sure that whether you’re out on the ‘hacienda’ or going to your hacienda, you have enough grip and reliability.
Absurd amounts of customizable storage that fit your every need
When you open up the powered tailgate, you’ll find a bed that comes with dividers and tether rails so you can customize your anchor points depending on your load. Assistance includes a kick-out step, bed lights, and a powered window to the cabin of the truck. If the bed isn’t enough and would need a trailer, a hitch, and electronic ports are also found at the back. If that still isn’t enough, the bed also comes with a dedicated RamBox® with a 115-V socket to keep small items that would otherwise take up space in the bed.
In the cabin, the passenger doors open up to almost 90 degrees, making way for cargo and passengers alike. The bench seats fold up to reveal more storage space underneath. Fitting three Filipino adults in the back wouldn’t be a problem as well, made possible by the absence of a center tunnel. Amenities include a small storage hole in the center console, air vents, a 115-V socket, and four charging points consisting of two USB Type-C and two USB Type-A ports. Leg room and head room also wouldn’t be a problem, thanks to the sheer size of the vehicle.
Why have a preference when you can have two (or three) of every option?
Up front, you’ll find a 14.4 inch touchscreen infotainment system, reminiscent of the latest Ford vehicles, physical air and audio controls, a mixture of USB Type-C and Type-A charging points for a total of seven charging points, two wireless charging pads (yes, two), a ridiculous amount of center console storage, and a lot of trays. Also, something worth mentioning, the Ram 1500 Rebel includes something that most cars don’t have, which comes in the form of an HDMI port to connect to your passenger’s 10.2-inch display that’s only visible to the passenger. But for a car this size, a 360-degree camera has to come standard, right? The Ram 1500 Rebel only wishes you luck on tight spaces and Philippine parking lots, as there is no 360-degree camera on this model.
Consistent with this truck’s theme, the instrument cluster is as big and customizable as you’d think it would be. The steering wheel houses your cruise control, both with and without adaptive cruise, your trip controls, and your audio controls, found where your shift paddles should be, quite unconventional if you ask us. 19 Harman/Kardon speakers surround the cabin, allowing your ears to experience the full P5,250,000 you paid for.
A true gentle giant out on the open road
For its size, you’d think that all it has is grunt and muscle. But on the road, the Ram 1500 Rebel is more of a gentle giant rather than a brute. But if you need a little more pull, simply switch on sport mode, and it will gladly bury you in your seat. To add to the gentleness of this giant, the steering is light, and sound deadening inside the vehicle is phenomenal, despite the Rebel’s size, shape, and tires. One thing to note, however, is that if you were looking for a little bit more aggressiveness, the stock exhaust might be a little underwhelming. If you want a roaring engine and don’t mind the extra fuel consumption, the HEMI V8 version will be more your style.
Who’s it for?
So the burning question now would be, is it for you? At P5,250,000, if you’re one to take gas prices, narrow streets, and city traffic into consideration, then the Ram 1500 Rebel may be a bit too big for your taste and your wallet. But if you’re looking for a worthy companion to oversee your vast farmland or you just want something bigger than the rest, and fuel economy isn’t really that much of a big deal to you, then the Ram 1500 Rebel might be the perfect vehicle to give you an experience like no other. If you're the kind of person who resonates with the Ram 1500 Rebel, explore it on the Ram Car Guide and connect with sales agents at AutoDeal.com.ph.
