Volkswagen brought in the Santana to try and have a share in the small family market.

Taking advantage of the ASEAN trade agreements, Volkswagen Philippines immediately pulled models from China with the Santana as the baby of the bunch - not in terms of size but on price. Everyone, including us, was surprised when they said it starts at Php 686,000 - a price that's in reach of those who are looking for their first car, or for their small family, but usually ends up in the tiny hatchbacks available in the price range.
