2017 Kia Rio teased ahead of Paris debut

Kia released teasers of the 2017 Rio ahead of its debut at this year’s Paris Motor Show. Though it looks bigger than its predecessor in the released images, we have yet to wait until its official launch. Nevertheless, it surely exhumes a sportier aura than before.

According to Kia, the all-new Rio presents a more confident appearance than the current model. Conceptualized in their design centers in the US, Germany, and Korea, the 2017 Rio now has a sharp fascia, which features the brand’s signature tiger-nose grille and new LED headlights.

In profile, designers tweaked the C-pillar angle to look more upright. They then balanced the style by lengthening its hood, front overhang, and wheelbase. We can only speculate but the longer wheelbase will more likely give more legroom to its passengers, which is good news. The rear end is finished off with new LED taillights and a redesigned bumper.

Kia also presented a sketch of the 2017 Rio’s dashboard. It’s a far departure from the outgoing model, with a more driver-oriented layout and minimal buttons. Although not revealed yet, Kia confirmed that it will have the latest connectivity features for the occupants’ convenience. It will also have additional safety tech, as well as features that would make it more engaging to drive on the road.

Of note, the Korean carmaker confirmed the production of the 2017 Rio to start later this year for the European market. They added that its production schedules for other regions will soon be announced as its Paris debut nears.
