2017 Mazda CX-5

Aside from exterior looks, car buyers should also consider the overall value for money, safety features, and practicality before purchasing a certain vehicle. With that in mind, Edmunds.com and Parents Magazine teamed up to determine the 10 best family vehicles.

From the wide range of vehicles available in the market, the 2017 Mazda CX-5 made it into the list and named as the best midsize crossover. The all-new CX-5 was able to achieve such feat due to its “value, performance, safety, and family-friendly features.”

For 2017, we completely redesigned the CX-5… Being recognized by Parents magazine and Edmunds is an honor and it attests to our commitment of making a great vehicle that fits a variety of lifestyles,” said Mazda North American Operations vehicle line manager Tetsu Nakazawa.

The all-new Mazda CX-5 made its Philippine debut during the 2017 Manila International Auto Show last March. The CX-5 shares similarities with its bigger brother – the CX-9. It is fitted with a wider grille, sharper-looking headlights, and more aggressive fascia as compared to its predecessor. The rear is also integrated with design changes as seen on the revamped bumper and slimmer taillights. Clearly, Mazda’s KODO: Soul of Motion design presented a new breed of luxury.

Other than the striking exterior, the all-new CX-5 is equipped with high-technology safety features such as the Mazda Proactive Safety, adaptive LED headlamps, blind spot monitoring, among others. The CX-5 also comes with Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control that reduces engine torque while cornering, which results to less body roll – yielding a more comfortable ride.

Joining the 2017 Mazda CX-5 in the top 10 best family vehicles are the following: Chevrolet Bolt EV, Kia Soul, Subaru XV, Honda Civic, Hyundai Sonata, Honda CR-V, Subaru Outback, Chrysler Pacifica, and Toyota Highlander.
