MINI Cooper Countryman D

The 2017 MINI Countryman has proven itself in its recent NCAP test in Europe, scoring a perfect 5-star safety rating.

The Countryman got 90% in the Adult Occupant frontal offset test with the passenger compartment remaining stable as dummy readings showed good femur (thigh bone) and knee protection. Child Occupant test was able to get an 80% rating, while Pedestrian test got 64%.

Meanwhile, the autonomous emergency braking system, which is a standard feature of the Countryman, performed well in the test at highway speeds. Seatbelt reminder and driver-set speed limitation system are also standard safety features. Collectively, the Countryman got 51% rating in the Safety Assist test.

Additionally, the MINI Countryman features high strength multi-phase and heat shaped steels that serves as a solid barrier for the occupants' safety. The test result is applicable to both the the locally available D and SD variants.

Launched in the Philippines early May, the Countryman currently has a price tag of P2,900,000 for the D variant. The Cooper Countryman SD, on the other hand, retails for P3,400,000.
