The Vios that we are all familiar with just had a makeover. Toyota Motor Thailand has officially revealed the 2017 Vios featuring a new exterior design.
At first glance, one can’t help but notice the Vios’ new fascia. It is fitted with blacked-out headlights, a revamped grille, and a more imposing bumper.
It seems like Toyota did a little bit of mash up when designing the Vios’ fascia - a fusion of the Corolla Altis and the all-new Camry. The front end has the aura of the new Corolla Altis, which made its Philippine debut last December 2016. Moreover, the Vios’ new grille design shares similarities with the all-new Camry.
Design changes continue to be seen at the rear through the vehicle’s new taillights and a slightly restyled bumper. The new Vios also has a slimmer chrome bar, which appears to be extending up to the taillights.
In Thailand, the top spec Vios is integrated with a 7-inch touchscreen, steering wheel mounted audio controls, automatic air conditioning, and a 2-tone black and red interior theme.
Under the hood, the Thai-spec 2017 Vios is powered by a 1.5L Dual VVT-i engine that delivers 108 hp and 140 Nm of torque. All 4 variants are mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
Toyota Philippines has yet to announce when will they launch the new Vios. For now, we want to know your reaction to the Vios’ new look – do you dig it?
