2018 Subaru Outback

Subaru revealed a fresher face for the SUV-wagon Outback and it is scheduled to debut at this year's New York Auto Show. This is not the first revampment from the Japanese marque as it previously introduced updates for the Impreza, WRX, and the Legacy

The 2018 Outback sports mild facelift with a number of tweaks inside. These include new bumper design where the fog light section is made more condensed. Additionally, the front has sharper chiseled elements compared to the curvy style of the existing model. This accents the brand's hexagonal grille, which is now slightly lower with horizontal character lines extending to the C-shaped headlamps.

Now down to its cabin, Subaru says the SUV-slash-wagon has more space to offer and comes with a 60/40-split foldable rear seats. This provides enough comfort, while new materials accentuates the new interior layout. Saying so, the dash features a redesigned center console that holds the standard 6.5-inch Starlink multimedia display screen, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

In terms of power, there are 2 engines available, a 2.5L and a 3.6L 6-cylinder Boxer engine. The smaller 2.5L generates 175 hp and 236 Nm of torque, while the 3.6L puts out 256 hp and 335 Nm. Both engines are mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Moreover, the 2018 Outback is integrated with Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive system and active torque vectoring.
