5 Features that make the Honda Mobilio a great family mini MPV

When it arrived in 2015, the Mobilio became Honda’s very first mini Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) in the country.

It can accommodate 7 people comfortably with a modest 223L of boot space for all the bags and pasalubongs from your road trip vacation. If you’re on an adventure alone, the rear seats can be folded for a maximum of 521L of cargo space. It runs on a frugal 1.5L i-VTEC gasoline engine churning out coupled to a 5-speed manual or CVT. That’s more than enough to take the whole family on weekend getaways and out of town trips easily.

The Mobilio is also budget friendly as all three variants - 1.5E, 1.5V and RS Navi - are priced under a million. Its array of comfort, safety, and entertainment features make it a great family vehicle.

Using the AutoDeal Car Guide, we take a look into the Mobilio’s amenities that make it worthy to be in your consideration list.

Keyless Entry

The Mobilio provides comfort not only for the passengers but for the driver too. Keyless entry comes standard in all variants, giving you easier access to your vehicle without compromise on security.

Rear Aircon Vents with Independent Control

Sure, other MPVs have rear vents too, but not all of them have independent controls. Remember when you had to ask whoever’s in front to turn the aircon up? Sometimes you even have to shout because of the traffic noise outside.

With the Mobilio, you can adjust rear temperature at your own will. Even if you are at the back-most seat, you can just reach out to the second row vent and make the changes. Never would you have to plead for more air again.

Infotainment System w/ Navigation

The top of the line RS Navi variant comes with a 7-inch touchscreen system with Navigation and DVD/CD player. The 1.5V is a step below and comes with a 2-DIN CD player.

The great thing about them though is both come with Bluetooth connectivity that allows for hands free phone and audio streaming. It can also be controlled via the multi-function steering wheel that comes with the RS Navi and 1.5V variants, so you can make basic adjustments without taking your eyes off the road.

Automatic Door Locks

The RS Navi features speed-sensing locks that would latch the door shut once you reach a certain speed and have forgotten to lock the door. Working in tandem with that is the auto-unlock function that will unlock the doors once you have shifted the transmission to Park mode. Your passengers won’t have to bother you again with unlocking the doors while you’re still gathering your things.

Safety Features

With the whole family inside, of course you want the vehicle to be safe. The Mobilio comes with front airbags, ABS with electronic brake-force distribution, seat belt reminder for the driver, ISOFIX, Child Safety Lock, and Immobilizer with alarm.

The best thing about the Mobilio is that every variant, from the base 1.5 E model to the top of the line RS Navi, comes with the same set of safety features giving you peace of mind in whatever price point you choose.

The Honda Mobilio starts at P817,000 for the base model and tops at P977,000. With all variants under a million and these features, it’s not that hard to see why you’ll be seeing more of the Mobilio in the streets. It’s available in Alabaster Silver Metallic, Crystal Black, Navi Sunset Orange, and Tafetta White. There’s also White Orchid Pearl available but will cost you an additional P20,000.
