The 5th CAMPI Philippine International Motor Show: A Taste Of Things To Come

Since day 1, CAMPI has been pulling all the stops to improve what can be improved, and enhance what was already what they find very successful, and among their strategies is the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS). Held every other year, the PIMS aims to not only showcase the latest models of the aforementioned automotive manufacturers, but also to raise the Philippines’ rep for being one of the most enticingly competitive countries in the world with regards to the automotive economy growth, especially in Asia.

This year will witness the industry-led auto show’s 5th running, and going by the theme, “Progress in Motion”, this year’s PIMS will highlight the country’s global-leading feats in propelling itself towards greater mobility and economic growth, as well as the great heights achieved in terms of automotive technological innovation and environmental-saving strategies.

“PIMS has always been more than a motor exhibit. This year, it serves as our platform in conveying how the automotive industry is a vital player in the Philippines’ thriving economy. The industry’s robust performance in the past two years is also proof that we are progressing toward better mobility and transportation.” – Mr. Rommel Gutierez, CAMPI President

Mr. Gutierez also mentioned that, “The 5th Philippine International Motor Show is also the perfect venue to show that CAMPI is one with the government in driving economic progress". This statement, in light of the strong upward direction of the country’s automotive economy stats after this year’s first quarter, gaining 22% from last year, will definitely keep things hot ahead of this year’s PIMS.

On top of that, last year marked a milestone as the Philippines’ automotive industry exceeded the 200,000 level, achieving a total of 212,000 units in total sales. All these were reached due to the introduction of new models by all the automotive manufacturers, and their creative ways in promoting and marketing their products.

To keep things on excite mode in anticipation for what could be another record-breaking feat, some of the country’s iconic vehicles will be on display, retelling in showroom style the history on how the Philippine motoring industry rose to the top. These, and a bevy of new and exciting automotive models will be shown, including concept and prototype cars, as well as car photography and scale-model exhibits, car buyers/sellers business booths, plus activities like car club meets and test drives.

The 5th CAMPI Philippine International Motor Show will be green-lighted on the 18th to the 21st of September at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. Expect a jam-packed weekend of automotive fun and excitement. For more information, contact the CAMPI office at (02) 632-9733.
