The all-new Honda CR-V received a 5-star safety rating from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia (NCAP). It’s the 1st model to get 5-stars under the new 2017-2020 protocol of the safety assessment program.
Launched in the Philippines barely a week ago, the Japanese brand’s newest 7-seater was able to garner a total score of 88.8 out of 100. A further breakdown shows that it received a score of 47.25 for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 22.84 for Child Occupant Protection (COP, and 18.71 for Safety Assist Technologies (SATs).
The all-new CR-V is packed with safety technology such as the Honda SENSING, which uses a bunch of sensors to warn the driver or help mitigate a collision. It’s also equipped with a system called LaneWatch, which displays the view from the passenger side mirror on the head unit. The SENSING and LaneWatch both received awards back in 2014 and 2016 for being the best technology in the market contributing to safety.
Apart from that, the all-new CR-V boasts several active and passive safety features such as 6 airbags, vehicle stability assist (VSA), hill start assist (HSA), and emergency stop signal (ESS).
