The all-new 2016 Honda Pilot is set to be launch later this month. According to Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI), it’s “re-engineered and redesigned from the ground up” to elevate the premium SUV market.
Gone is the boxy physique of its predecessor in favor of more rounded panels. The all-new Pilot now has muscular and sharper character lines while still having a smooth aerodynamic shape.
Honda also said that they’ve crafted it by incorporating premium exterior features. This is highlighted by the brand’s signature front and rear LED lights. The headlights even have these daytime running lights (DRL) that’s shaped like a pointed blade to accentuate the modern, sporty feel.
But the biggest change Honda has done to the Pilot is found within. For the interior, the latest Pilot now offers more soft touch materials plus an LED ambient lighting system. On top of that, it also carries Honda’s Display Audio system which has a touch screen interface for streamlined connectivity.
The Honda Pilot will also land in Philippine shores with a 2015 International Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick+ award under its name. This is because of its arsenal of advanced safety features such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Road Departure Mitigation System (RDMS), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and the advanced driver-assistive technology - Honda Sensing.
Also, the upcoming 2016 Honda Pilot will run with a 3.5L SOHC i-VTEC engine with Earth Dreams technology. This power plant has a cylinder deactivation system called Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) which Honda claims to improve fuel efficiency. The all-wheel drive powertrain also comes with an Intelligent Variable Torque Management (i-VTCM4) and Intelligent Traction Management for better drivability under varied road or weather condition.
Lastly, HCPI has announced that their dealerships are already accepting reservations for the all-new 2016 Honda Pilot. We’ll keep you posted on the all-new Honda Pilot’s arrival soon.
