After creating a huge buzz at the 2015 Frankfurt International Motor Show, the exclusive distributor of Kia in the Philippines Columbian Autocar Corporation (CAC) has finally brought its compact SUV here in the Philippines – the all-new Sportage.
At 1st glance, one would notice its sporty exterior which features bulging headlights and sculpted hood, wider mesh grille, headlights with Daytime Running Lights (DRL), and the 4 clustered foglamps with chrome accents. On the other hand, it has a larger spoiler and edgy rear tail lamps giving the rear a sporty, aggressive look.
The all-new Sportage is now 40mm longer and 10mm wider and has 30mm more legroom compared to its its predecessor. Inside, leather and chrome trims fill the cabin. It also has steering wheel mounted audio controls giving the driver command over the head unit. Passengers can also enjoy the panoramic sunroof and its rear seats that can be reclined up to 35 degrees.
This compact SUV is powered by a 2.0L e-VGT CRDi DOHC diesel engine that can churn out 185 hp and 402 Nm of torque. It can also run with regular diesel giving the Sportage a sense of practicality. This is all mated to a 6-speed automatic Shiftronic transmission.
There's also more safety equipment for the all-new Sportage than the previous version. It now has dual front, side, and curtain airbags. It's also equipped with ABS, immobilizer, and security alarm.
The all-new Sportage comes in 3 variants, EX 4x2, EX 4x4, and GT Line 4x4 which are priced between P1,445,000 to P1,795,000.
